What Goes on Behind Bars: Zookeepers Share Wild Stories, and We Will Never Look at Zoos in the Same Way

It’s a fact – being a zookeeper also means being a professional poop picker-upper and food deliverer. Taking care of animals requires a lot of dirty work. But, I have to say, I never really thought about all the behind-the-scenes tasks that go into running a zoo. It’s kind of like being a parent.

You have to take care of all the less glamorous stuff to ensure your little ones are healthy and happy. I’m just glad there are people out there willing to do this kind of work because I definitely don’t think I could handle it! Here’s to all the zookeepers out there who are doing the real MVP work.
