#14: Strong Religious Values
We’ve all met those people who like to proclaim their religious or spiritual beliefs to anyone who will listen. They talk about love, kindness, and forgiveness and seem to have all the right words to say. But then, they go and act in ways that are completely unchristian. They’ll gossip behind someone’s back, judge others for their lifestyle choices, or even engage in downright mean-spirited behavior.
It’s like saying you’re a vegetarian but secretly snacking on bacon when no one’s looking. If you’re going to talk the talk, you’ve got to walk the walk. Maybe it’s time for these “religious” and “spiritual” people to take a good hard look at their behavior and start acting in a way that’s truly in line with their beliefs. Or, they can just embrace the irony and become the world’s first-ever “selectively religious” people.
