Gisele Bundchen first gained fame when she was scouted by Elite Model Management at the age of 14. She quickly rose to become one of the most reputable models in the industry, walking for some of the world’s top designers and appearing in campaigns for big names like Chanel, Victoria’s Secret, and Versace. Her work has earned her numerous awards, including being named “Model of the Year” by Vogue Magazine in 1999.
While it all worked out for the best for Gisele, there is something very problematic about scouting a young girl at a McDonald’s and encouraging a modeling career from a young age. For some girls, it might create pressure and put the focus on their looks, while their childhood years are supposed to be dedicated to exploring the world around them and having fun.
