#36: The Lost I Love Lucy Pilot Was Partially Reconstructed Decades Later
In 1990, a 16mm print of the original I Love Lucy pilot was unexpectedly discovered. While the episode itself survived, the opening titles and the first few seconds of the narration were damaged beyond repair, leaving an important piece of TV history incomplete.

For the 2002 DVD release, the missing opening was carefully reconstructed. Original announcer Bob LeMond re-recorded the narration, doing so 51 years after his first recording. The restoration allowed fans to experience the pilot more fully, preserving a rare and nearly lost moment in television history.
