#4: Michael Jackson and Steven Tyler After Beatlemania
From its inception, Studio 54 was a magnet for the crème de la crème of the celebrity world. A testament to this is a captivating snapshot of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, rock legend Steven Tyler, and the rebellious Cherie Currie, all sharing a moment with the club’s impresario, Steve Rubell. This iconic encounter occurred just a few months after the club swung open its notorious doors.
On June 9, 1977, a grand Beatlemania Bash was held to celebrate the theatrical tribute to the iconic Beatles and their profound influence on the swinging ’60s. Among the glittering attendees were the fabulous regulars of Studio 54, including pop art pioneer Andy Warhol. Adding to the star-studded guest list was Mitch Weissman, who not only attended but shone brightly on stage, starring in the play for which the party was thrown.
