Woosh
More than 30 people committed suicide by jumping off the Empire State Building. That’s a pretty horrific way to go, and it must be traumatizing to the unsuspecting people on the ground. What there’s one case where a woman tried and failed to end her life by leaping over the edge.

This case is so crazy, we have a difficult time believing it. In December 1979, after being let go, Elvita Adams jumped out of an 86th-story window, only to land on the ledge of the 85th floor. A powerful gust of wind pushed her back toward the building, effectively ruining her suicide attempt.
