Star Trek: Into Darkness was just another super-popular Star Trek series hit. Directed by J.J. Abrams, it starred Chris Pine as Captain Kirk, leading the crew of the Starship Enterprise once again. The movie made a cool $467.4 million at the box office!
Starfleet Headquarters scenes were filmed at the Getty Center, and they were all hush-hush. They used spots like the Museum Courtyard and Entrance Hall. The Getty’s sleek, futuristic look fits perfectly with the crew’s HQ. Sci-fi flicks are also filmed there; movies like The Big Lebowski and L.A. Story use the Getty Center, too.
