It may be hard to believe – depending on where you live – but some small Indian villages don’t believe in locking their doors! Their faith is so strong that they believe the local deities will provide the protection they need. Some doors don’t have places for locks at all. We’re talking about businesses that contain ATMs and store merchandise! 

There are even villages, like Shani Shingnapur, where houses have no doors at all! The village consists of around 4,000 people, but there are zero doors, just wooden frames. It is believed that anyone who attempts to steal there will immediately be severely punished or cursed by either blindness, mental unbalance, or long-term health problems for seven years.
